HEY HEY HEY LHSIANS!

Do you still remember the jail booth and the handcuff booth? Well, it’s making its appearance yet again! The Grade 10 BrighTENers in partnership with the Students Body Organization (S.B.O.) has officially made a booth wherein you can pay certain amount to surprise or chain up your fellow schoolmates! We, the booth organizers, have made rules and regulations to make this year’s intramurals exciting and memorable. ‘Staying 3-5 minutes in a banned area’ would be one of these. So come on down at the Ground Floor of DMMMSU LHS, in front of the Chemistry Laboratory. Only available from October 9-11. See you there!

LHS GIVES TRIBUTE TO TEACHERS

Sometimes, it takes little things showing appreciation and gratitude to make an ordinary day extraordinary.

Initiated by the SBO, the LHS students honored their beloved teachers through a short Teachers’ Day celebration at the LHS grounds after the flag ceremony this morning.

Each section also prepared heartfelt and fun-filled surprise for their respective advisers and subject teachers inside their classrooms afterwards.

LHS HONORS SCIENCE CHAMPS

In celebration of the National Science Club Month 2019 with the theme, “Metabolize: Nourishing the Filipino Youth towards National Well-being”, the LHS students participated in different activities such as Poster Making Contest, Science and Technology Writing Contest, Spelling Bee, Science, Technology, Environmental, and Mathematics Quiz Bee, Rubiks Cube Battle, and Sci-Photography Contest held at DMMMSU SLUC Laboratory High School Building last September 18, 2019.

LHS JOINS COASTAL CLEAN UP DRIVE

LHS joins coastal clean up drive

In partnership with the Pambayang Pederasyon ng mga Sangguniang Kabataan headed by their SK president Mark Anthony Refugia, Agoo High Schools participated in the International Coastal Clean Up Drive held at San Isidro Agoo, La Union.

The activity ais to raise the environmental awareness in different communities.

To help with the said goal,the Laboratory High school Leaders joined force in taking action to prevent more plastic from entering the ocean and to show proper waste disposal.

LHS LAUNCHES MATH-SCI CELEBRATION

With the theme: “Metabolize: Nourishing the Filipino Youth Towards National Well-being”, the Laboratory High School conducted Mathematics and Science culmination today, September 18, 2019.

The said event highlights Science, Mathematics, Techno and Environmental Quiz, Sci-Poster Making Contest, Science and Technology writing, Sci-Photo-journalism, Sci-spelling Bee and Sci-Rubix cube Battle.

This was for all LHS students to have a strong background in mathematics and science and to help them develop their understanding on the said subjects.

The program was conducted by the officers of Mathematics and Science club to and spearheaded by Mr. Ernesto G. Flores Jr.

CAS DRAGONS MARCH ON, CLAIM CHEERDANCE CROWN

Armed with rifles and matching military inspired outfit, the CAS Dragons shoot straight to the heart of the judges to win the coveted approval of the board of judges in the recently concluded cheerdance competition during the opening program of the SLUC Campus Olympics.

Not to be outdone are the cheerdancers from the College of Education who claimed the second best spot with their magician’s cape and stellar performance as inspired by the movie The Greatest Showman.

The Blue Sharks from the College of Fisheries grabbed third place followed by the cheerdancers from the College of Computer Science.

Not far behind are the performers from the Community Health and Allied Medical Sciences and lastly the College of Agriculture.

DMMMSU HOSTS REGIONAL SUMMIT, LHS SCRIBE RANKS SECOND IN WRITING CONTEST

In celebration of the National Library and Information Services Month 2019, the Philippine Librarians Association Inc. – Ilocos Region Librarians Council (PLAI-IRLC) conducted a regional summit for school librarians with the theme, “PLAI-IRLC: Responding to the Challenges towards Information Revolution” on September 6, 2019 at the Main Library, Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University South La Union Campus, Agoo, La Union.

Aside from the summit which highlighted the awareness and appreciation of importance of the libraries and the librarians as significant influencers in the society, on-the-spot essay writing competition and poster making were contested by student writers and artists from the different schools in the region, respectively.

Using the sub-theme, “Inclusive, Innovative, Interconnected”, Bianca Monique Anama, a Grade 12 LHS scribe, won second place in the on-the-spot essay writing competition. Top three of the aforementioned competitions received certificates and cash prizes.

Accompanied by their coaches, Zander Mercado and Gibson Reyes, six other students from junior high also represented the school and received certificates of participation.
